Notes

Release: 2026-08-07, UK sales reference, not announcement. Date source: https://news.samsung.com/uk/samsung-officially-launches-galaxy-z-fold8-ultra-z-fold8-z-flip8-watch-ultra2-and-watch9 . Released Android 17 separately verified in the manufacturer log for SM-F971B; this does not assert the latest build in every region. Security end: calculated month from release reference plus seven years, not an official cutoff. Top entry in the linked Samsung model/region-specific firmware log rechecked 2026-10-12: Android 17. This does not establish simultaneous availability in every region.

Notes

Manufacturer commitment: up to seven OS generations and seven security years from first global launch. No separate seven-year OS duration asserted. Current monthly scope: https://security.samsungmobile.com/workScope.smsb . Final Android and security end are calculated. Cadence rechecked 2026-10-12 against Samsung Mobile Security scope. This is not re-verification of the entire support commitment.
